I am back home now. The study abroad experience is over. I want to say, if you are thinking about studying abroad, DO IT. This is and was a chance in a lifetime. Even with all the money in the world, staying in Japan for longer than 3 months(max limit for a tourist visa) is not so easy to do. I wanted to say, coming from Hawaii, overseas opens your mind to so much more. Different ways of doing things, different perspectives, shedding light on different issues around the world is an unforgettable and life-changing experience.

My experience in Japan showed me that the experience you have is what you make of it. That includes everything from friends, to events, memories, the amount of money you spend. So it really depends on you and what you want out of your experience. So my advice is to do some research before you go, talk with as many people as you can and to have goals.
